Rhema, Italy> Rev. Mauro Girgenti was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit in April of 1977. He sensed the call of God on his life and in 1981 he attended Bible school. After he graduated, he served as assistant pastor at a church in Mississauga Ontario.

Through all these years, he took short-term mission trips to Italy and he always saw a great need but did not receive the call to move there until February of 1994. While in Palermo Italy, Rev. Girgenti had a special visitation during which the Lord told him that He was moving him to his next phase of ministry and that He had called him to go to Italy as a missionary. In July of the same year he resigned from Word of Life, he handed the church over to his assistant pastor, and he founded GOOD NEWS MINISTRIES, a non-profit missionary organization affiliated with C.F.C.M.
